The law applies to people who have been convicted of a crime in the past 10 or 15 years, depending on the type of conviction. However, only lower felony convictions are eligible. Those with multiple convictions are only eligible if the convictions all fell within five years. Convictions that required individuals to register as sex offenders are ineligible.
